The State Fair of Texas is one of the most colorful and energetic places to photograph all year! We spend the day exploring Fair Park with our cameras, capturing everything from the iconic Big Tex and historic architecture to carnival rides, food vendors, livestock, entertainers, and the incredible people who make the fair come alive.
This walk is perfect for photographers of all experience levels. We'll discuss composition, storytelling, working with natural light, capturing candid moments, and finding unique images in a busy environment. Whether you're drawn to street photography, portraits, architecture, details, or vibrant colors, you'll leave with a memory card full of images and plenty of inspiration.

Among the golden pumpkins and bright marigolds, the Arboretum becomes a celebration of season and soul. We’ll wander through fall’s textures and the vibrant tributes of Día de los Muertos, exploring how light, memory, and color intertwine. This walk invites you to photograph both joy and reflection — the beauty of life seen through its echoes.

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, chances are you’ll have some of your favorite people together in one place—so let’s make sure you know how to photograph them!

Join us for a late-afternoon photo walk focused on creating natural, flattering family and group portraits. We’ll work on finding great light and backgrounds, arranging and posing groups, choosing the right camera settings and depth of field, getting everyone in focus, and creating photographs that feel relaxed rather than stiff or overly posed.

Come on your own and practice with the group, or bring along family members, a spouse, kids, or friends to photograph. We’ll work with photographers of all experience levels and help you wherever you are with your camera.
The goal is simple: when everyone gathers for the holidays, you’ll be ready to get them together, get them in focus, and make a photograph you’ll actually want to keep.
